"Nasty Dog" Animation Meme refers to a series of animation memes in which characters are animated moving, singing and dancing to the song "Nasty Dog" by Sir Mix-a-Lot, with the characters often edited to have the dog filter on them. The meme was first popularized on TikTok in early August 2024 and gained viral spread that month to sites including X / Twitter and YouTube.
Origin
On August 1st, 2024, TikToker[1] @rakkutron posted a Chainsaw Man fan animation in which the character Denji is animated singing the song "Nasty Dog" by Sir Mix-a-Lot to Makima, garnering over 4.1 million views in just under a month (shown below). This is the earliest known example of the meme.

The song was popularized as the subject of similar animation memes on TikTok, YouTube and X over the following days. For example, on August 8th, 2024, YouTuber[2] metal posted a version of the meme based on One Piece, garnering over 30,000 views in two weeks.
On August 17th, TikToker[3] @t3ddys3dits posted a version of the meme referencing the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine, garnering over 1.4 million views in 10 days.
