"Photo ID" Animation Meme is a series of animation memes set to the song "Photo ID" by Remi Wolf showing animated characters, often anthropomorphic furry characters, dancing to a portion of the song beginning with the chorus, "Ooh, baby, turn off the light." The trend began in September 2021 and continued, primarily on YouTube, over the following year.

Origin

On September 15th, 2021, YouTuber[1] Camooh posted an animation in which an anthro character named Vorteil[2] dances to the song "Photo ID" by Remi Wolf, garnering over 1.9 million views in a year (shown below).

On October 9th, YouTuber[3] Dexechii then posted a similar animation with a different character, garnering over 749,000 views in a year (shown below).

Spread

The trend continued to spread across YouTube over the following months. On November 7th, 2021, YouTuber[4] 꿀냥_Honey kitty posted a version of the trend, garnering over 440,000 views in a year (shown below, left). On December21st, YouTuber[5]
Scyrina posted a version of the trend that garnered over 223,000 views in 11 months (shown below, right).

On January 25th, 2022, YouTuber[6] PATARTIST posted a version of the meme that garnered over 314,000 views in 10 months (shown below).

On July 3rd, YouTuber[7] Ozomilk posted a version of the meme that garnered over 40,000 views in four months (shown below).
