Navy Seal Stabbing Dummy refers to a scene from Deadliest Warrior where a Navy seal repeatedly, violently stabs a rubber dummy while screaming, completely beheading the dummy. The episode aired in July 2010 and was reuploaded to YouTube numerous times, becoming the subject of memes as early as 2021 on Reddit.
Origin
On July 27th, 2010, Deadliest Warrior season two episode 14, "Navy Seal vs. Israeli Commando," aired on television.[1] In one scene, a Navy seal stabs at a dummy wildly to show off the power of the Recon 1 knife, screaming as he stabs the dummy repeatedly (shown below). The clip has been uploaded to YouTube numerous times.
Spread
In 2021, the scene started to see use in image macros on Reddit. For example, on March 11th, 2021, Redditor MemegodDave posted an image macro to /r/shitposting[2] using the clip to criticize the UK for the number of stabbings they have, gaining over 13,000 upvotes in a year (shown below).
On May 8th, Redditor ImPrettyWhack posted a meme to /r/HistoryMemes[3] using the clip, gaining over 32,000 upvotes in a year (shown below). On May 27th, 2022, a meme about Raid: Shadow Legends using the video clip was posted to /r/dankmemes,[4] gaining over 45,000 upvotes in five days. On May 31st, the template was posted to /r/memetemplates[5] official, gaining over 2,000 upvotes in a day.
