Nussy is a portmanteau of "nose" and "pussy," which some use to describe the nose as a sexual orifice, especially among those who find pleasure in nasal swap coronavirus tests (similar to Thrussy).

Origin

On March 19th, 2017, Twitter ^[1] user @muuear tweeted the earliest available usage of the word (shown below). They wrote, "ah my favorite word. nussy (nose pussy)."

Spread

Over the next three years, usage of the word continued to build. On December 18th, 2018, Twitter^[2] @cruel_genesis tweeted, "alright listen,, instead of 'picking ur nose' how about 'fingering that nussy'" (shown below, left).

During the coronavirus outbreak in 2020, usage of the word went viral on Twitter. On September 14th, 2020, Twitter^[3] @larryowenslive tweeted, "just got my first covey test and chile when that thing hit the back of my nussy (nose pussy)………….." The post received more than 125,000 likes and 9,000 retweets in less than six months.

On December 21st, Rolling Stone^[4] published a report on the term. That day, they tweeted,^[5] "2020 is the year of the "nussy." Meet the people getting off on Covid-19 nasal swabs." The post received more than 7,400 retweets and 3,700 likes in less than one month (shown below).

On December 25th, Urban Dictionary user Pogoextreme defined the term as "The Nussy, or the 'nose pussy,' if you will, was discovered during the corona virus pandemic of 2020. People that had to be tested for Covid-19 had to have their nose swabbed right where the brain connects, which often led to people rolling back their eyes and gagging. A nose-swab-fetish developed from this, because we, as humans, ruin everything." The post received more than 3,700 upvotes in less than one month (shown below).
