About

Oh That's Not… refers to a memorable line said by a co-host from The View program in 2015 after Kelly Osbourne tried to call Donald Trump out for his offensive remarks about Latinos being murderers and rapists. While co-hosting on the show, Osbourne made a misstep by saying, "If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to clean your toilets, Donald Trump?" to which a co-host responded, "oh that's not." The moment became a popular reaction video and catchphrase, often used to describe racist and offensive behavior on social media.

Origin

On August 4th, 2015, English television personality Kelly Osbourne[1] was guest-hosting The View when the co-hosts began to discuss Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's immigration stance. Osbourne joined the topic by asking the question "In what way does he think that people are going to vote for him after he's just called them rapists and murderers?" she said. "If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?"

A shocked co-host promptly responded to Osbourne's testament by saying "oh that's not…," to which Kelly unsuccessfully tried to explain what she meant. The moment was shared on YouTube[2] by @InsideEdition on August 4th, 2015, garnering over 1.1 million views and 12,000 likes in eight years.

Spread

The moment became a popular Stan Twitter catchphrase, mostly used to indicate something considered racist, offensive or controversial. For instance, on August 4th, 2023, X[3] user @lidolmix posted Osbourne's viral video paired with the caption "'oh that’s not..' and stan Twitter was never the same." The post (shown below) received more than 3 million views and 78,000 likes in a month.

On February, 7th, 2023, X[4] user @notgwendalupe replied "oh that's not…" to a tweet saying "Disney actors be having ZERO drip." On May 29th, 2022, X[5] user @itszaeok replied to a tweet using the same catchphrase (shown below, right), which amassed more than 32,000 likes and 1,000 retweets in a year.
