My Fucking God! These Bitches Gay! Good For Them!, also known as Ally Sonic, is a catchphrase and reaction image derived from a Sonic Says meme where Sonic the Hedgehog says in a blue speech bubble, "My fucking god! These bitches gay! Good for them! Good for them." The meme was posted to Instagram in August 2019 and saw use as a reaction image over the following years, with the phrase also seeing use in similar image macro memes.
Origin
Between 2018 and 2019, an alternative version of the Sonic Says meme showing Sonic next to a speech bubble saying various ironic phrases started to see use as a reaction format online.[1][2] On August 5th, 2019, Instagram[3] user hyulloh posted a low-resolution version of the meme captioned, "My fucking god! These bitches gay! Good for them! Good for them," garnering over 1,500 likes in three years. This is the earliest known upload of the meme, but it is unclear if it was created by the user.
Spread
The image spread over the following months as a reaction image. On December 22nd, 2019, Twitter[4] user @reactjpg posted it, garnering over 500 likes in three years. On January 25th, 2020, Twitter[5] user @jooniesdimpl posted a recreation of the meme using the same phrase next to an image of K-pop singer Joon. On February 9th, a Redditor posted a screenshot of a now-deleted viral Tumblr post to /r/gay_irl[6] that uses an edited version of the meme to react to a text post, garnering over 1,800 upvotes in two years (shown below). It was posted to /r/tumblr[7] on May 5th, garnering over 2,100 upvotes in two years.
On May 25th, 2020, YouTuber Princess Sylvysprit posted an edit of "Gangnam Style" where it appears as if Psy is saying the phrase, garnering over 55,000 views in two years (shown below).
On February 5th, 2021, YouTuber Luke Correia posted a voiced-over version of the original meme, garnering over 307,000 views in a year (shown below).
On December 17th, 2020, Instagram[8] user bisexual_bitches reposted a now-deleted meme by rancid.possum using the catchphrase over an image of a possum, garnering over 4,900 likes in nine months (shown below, left). On July 2nd, 2022, Tumblr[9] user coralinejones posted a Stranger Things meme using the phrase, garnering over 500 notes in two months (shown below, right).
