On April 13th, Blunts posted a video to TikTok^[6] where he sings his song "Talking To The Sun," garnering over 4.3 million views in seven months. On May 17th, Blunts released a music video for "Talking To the Sun" on YouTube,^[7] garnering over 369,000 views in six months and becoming his most viewed video as of November 2024.

On September 14th, Blunts posted a series of photos to TikTok^[8] and Instagram^[9] showing him recording music from a hospital bed, garnering over 3.7 million views on the former and 16,000 likes on the latter in two months.

On September 26th, he posted several photos of himself walking stairs on Instagram^[10] and TikTok,^[11] garnering over 6.7 million views and 13,000 likes respectively. In the Instagram caption, Blunts talks about changing his life, writing:

On July 20th, 2022, Redditor u/2pro4u___ posted a screenshot to /r/shitposting^[22] of a Facebook post made by Blunts pre-viral music success in which he expresses frustration over being scammed with a fake bill featuring Obama's face, garnering over 6,500 upvotes in two years.

On April 16th, 2024, following the virality of his songs "Talking To The Sun" and "The Cup" on TikTok, Sheesh Media^[12] published an interview with Blunts. On May 13th, the On The Radar Radio YouTube^[19] channel published an "On The Radar" freestyle with Blunts, garnering over 800,000 views in six months. November 2024 Weight Discourse

On November 8th, 2024, X^[14] user @funnyhoodvidss posted a video captiong "aura" of Dave Blunts performing his song "The Cup" live. In the video, Blunts is sitting in the middle of the stage and sipping on lean as he sings. The post garnered over 40,000 likes, 4,900 reposts and 23 million views in three days.

The video inspired online discourse about Blunts' weight and health. On November 9th, X^[15] user @apt9charlie quote-reposted the video, writing, "Dude he can’t even stand during his performances and he’s like mid 20s I genuinely fear for his health," garnering over 160,000 likes in two days. That day, X^[16] user @Peenigga1 posted, "I was there he made everyone turn the cameras off and had 4 security guards help him get up," garnering over 143,000 likes in two days.

On November 10th, TikToker^[20] @nukephilli posted a video of Blunts seemingly out of breath sitting against a wall, garnering over 50,000 views in a day. Later that day, X^[21] user @ohfold reposted the video, writing, "Dave blunts was on the brink of passing out backstage after performing while sitting on a chair," garnering over 13,000 likes in a day.

On November 9th, 2024, Snoop Dogg reposted the video of Blunts performing "The Cup" to Instagram,^[23] captioning it, "We’ll put down the chicken wings and Tata chips Nefew and that chair gone break soon get to the end of the cup," garnering over 171,000 likes in three days.

Personal Life

According to his interviews with Sheesh Media and Complex, Dave Blunts was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 1st, 2000.

He started recording music at 18. He explains that Madison, a girl he frequently raps about, is someone he used to see since he was 14, but she has a new man named Julian, who he also frequently raps about. In the Sheesh Media interview, he is quoted as saying:

So Madison is this girl that I’ve been f---ing with since I was like 14, we’ve been on and off throughout the years, but she always gets a new boyfriend and tries to make me jealous. I’ve always been a local artist, so people around my city know who I am, and she’ll use that to talk to guys and be like 'hey, you wanna talk to Dave? I know him, lemme call him.'
