Jenny69 or Jenny Ruiz is an American beauty and fashion YouTuber, entrepreneur and influencer known for creating videos targeted to a Latinx audience. She began uploading makeup tutorials in 2012 and became popular a few years after and established her own false eyelash company Baddie B Lashes[9] in 2019. In 2020, Ruiz received backlash for her statement made during the George Floyd protests in June.
Online History
On November 8th, 2012, Jen_ny69 uploaded her first YouTube video introducing herself (shown below, left). The video gained over 188,700 views and 2,400 likes in eight years. She began gaining popularity in 2014. On Guru Gossip,[1] user Cowgirl88 began a forum thread regarding Jen_ny69. On January 13th, 2017, Jen_ny69 uploaded her most popular video "Getting ready to go to my tias faded at" (shown below, right). The video accumulated over 1.9 million views and 40,000 likes in three years.
On March 29, 2019, Jenny Ruiz uploaded her most popular video on her vlog channel called A Day in the Life of a 69 (shown below) The video "VLOG | I WENT TO A JARIPEO!!!" received over 1.3 million views and 30,000 likes in a year.

Two million followers on Instagram,[5] 1.07 million subscribers on her main YouTube[6] channel, 273,000 subscribers on her vlog YouTube[7] channel and 208,700 followers on Twitter.[8]
Protest Controversy
Following the George Floyd protests in May 2020, Jenny Ruiz responded to viewers questions about her silence on June 9th, in a vlog video called "UPDATE WHY I HAVEN'T BEEN ON INSTAGRAM" (shown below). The video, which featured Ruiz explaining that she has her own problems going on and doesn't feel like speaking out on the topic, accumulated over 106,170 views in a day.
Many Twitter users criticized her response and disagreed with her stance. Twitter user @seattlethe206_[2] tweeted, "Next time jenny69 ask for yalls support tell her to buy her own shit because it’s your money and don’t buy her coachroach leg eyebrows and don’t forget blacklivesmatter" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 340 likes in a day. Twitter user @yesitsyesse[3] tweeted, "Jenny69 is a FUCKING Clown Can we please stop supporting idiots who profit off of our cultures but stay quiet when we need them to speak out !!!!! #Blm #jenny69" and received over 290 likes in a day (shown below, right). The Daily Dot[4] reported on the controversy.
Personal Life
Jenny Ruiz was born on March 11, 1994 in Corona, California and married her husband Emmanuel in 2017. Her son, was diagnosed with Autism in 2019.[10]
