About

Lasse Lund, sometimes referred to online as the Norwegian Indian Guy or White Indian, is a content creator whose videos discussing his childhood in Mumbai, India, went viral in late May 2026. While Lund's videos were spread due to the uniquely absurd situation they discuss, out-of-context clips of Lund would eventually spread on X / Twitter in late June 2026, particularly due to his strong Indian accent despite being from Norway.

Background

According to his account, he lived on the streets of Mumbai between the ages of 11 and 17 after his father returned to Norway and his mother was imprisoned for overstaying her visa. Following his eventual return to Norway, he stated that he received little support from authorities and, lacking a formal education, worked in factories performing manual labor.[1]

As an adult, he returned to India years later to film a documentary about his experiences and has said that he hopes to give back to the people who helped him survive during his childhood.

Online Presence

On May 25th, 2026, Lund posted a video to his Instagram account[1] @lasse.jonas.lund wherein he discusses his story of being abandoned by his parents and being forced to live on the streets of Mumbai. The video went viral, receiving over 1.1 million likes in less than one month.

The next day, on March 26th, 2026, X[2] / Twitter user @crazyclips_ reposted the video to the platform, where it would amass over 34.8 million views and 53,800 likes in three weeks.

On May 27th, 2026, X[3] user @kirawontmiss posted a reaction saying, “this is a worse fate than getting a life sentence.” The post received over 3.6 million views and 51,260 likes in three weeks.

The fanfare surrounding Lund and his story lessened over the next few weeks before eventually being reignited by the sharing of out-of-context clips in which he is heard speaking Hindi or English with a thick Indian accent.

On June 20th, 2026, X[4] user @slinkout posted a clip of Lund for a mostly unrelated post about running into a former classmate. The post received over 3.5 million views and 22,370 likes in about three days.

On June 21st, 2026, X[5] user @tsukkiyomiii posted a clip of the Lund saying, “Do you still need hotspot?” in front of a group of girls before moving to slap someone off-camera. The post received over 1.3 million views and 19,330 likes in two days.

The same day, X[6] user @Emvps_ posted a reaction to the slap in the hotspot clip, stating, "Guy ain’t even larping man thats the most indian slap I’ve ever seen." The post received over 1 million views and 39,209 likes in two days.
