Max Design Pro is an American YouTube channel that makes videos about an anthropomorphic monkey named Max and his home and school life. The channel began posting videos in May 2020, with well-known meme characters and internet culture figures being incorporated into Max Design Pro videos in subsequent years. The channel's perceived brain rot YouTube Shorts content has garnered an ironic fan base, primarily on Twitter / X.

Background

Max Design Pro first began posting videos to YouTube in May 2020, with the channel's earliest post[1] appearing on October 24th, 2022 (seen below, left), and the channel's main character first appeared in a November 15th post[2] that gathered over 60,000 views in two years (seen below, right).



The channel began incorporating popular memes into its videos in December 2022, with mascot horror character Huggy Wuggy appearing in a video[3] that gathered over 40,000 views in two years (seen below, left). The channel's most viral video[4] was posted on April 27th, 2023, gathering over 500,000 views in a year (seen below, right).



Online Presence

A video posted to X / Twitter by Max Pro Design on May 17th, 2024, showed his characters dressed up as nurses to help the Roblox Chicken Nugget, aka Gegagedigedagedago.

X users then began sharing memes and jokes about how Max Pro Design had committed a war crime, stating he violated the Geneva Convention by using a Red Cross symbol they do not have permission to use.


X[7] user @StanleyMOV posted one such joke on May 18th, gathering over 28,000 likes in three weeks (seen below, left).

On June 2nd, 2024, X[8] user @deathgobrr posted an "Analog Horror edit of a Max Pro Design video, gathering over 8,000 likes in a week (seen below).


Criticism

On April 25th, 2024, YouTuber[5] TheTalentlessWriter posted a video criticizing Max Pro Design's content, calling it a "brain rot" content farm in a video that gathered over 100,000 views in a month (seen below, left). A May 19th video by YouTuber[6] AugustTheDuck gathered over 700,000 views in three years. The video is titled, "Brainrot Content Farms Are A Problem" (seen below, right).
