Origin
On October 17th, 2023, during the match between Brazil and Uruguay held in Montevideo, a cameraman captured Brazilian player Richarlison at the edge of the field pulling down his shorts while getting ready and his underwear was exposed. The moment was shared on YouTube[1] by user @TR7MILGRAU, which amassed over 9,900 views and 127 likes in a day.

Richarlison's underwear caught on camera instantly became a still image on X, being the subject of jokes and memes. For example, on October 17th, 2023 X[2] user @CentralDoBrega posted the picture paired with a caption in Portuguese saying "Richarlison in panties hahaha." The post (shown below, left) amassed more than 63,000 likes and 5,600 retweets in a day. x[3] user @omarcocaja commented on the cameraman's decision to focus on the player just when he was changing his clothes (shown below, right), which garnered roughly 273 likes and 19 retweets in a day.
