About

Doctor Ivo Robotnik, better known as Doctor Eggman (the latter name is the original, while the former was created for the North American releases of the series; the latter has since become the common name used for the character in all current media, while the former is recognized as his birth name likewise worldwide) is the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise and all other media based on it. He is a mad scientist bent on world domination and specializing in robotics, both creating numerous automatons which generally use captive animals as internal energy sources and personally piloting dozens of vehicles to battle Sonic and company throughout the series.

Robotnik/Eggman is one of the longest-running and well-recognized villain characters in video gaming, and has the most varied character evolution among the Sonic cast when it comes to his alternate versions in other media, the most notable of which have been portrayed by Long John Baldry, Jim Cummings and (most recently) Jim Carrey. Likewise, the character in his many incarnations has been the subject of multiple notable memes online, both within the subculture of the Sonic fandom and beyond.

Pingas

"Pingas" is a phrase iconic within the YouTube Poop genre and originating from a 1993 episode of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog animated series in which Robotnik, voiced by musician Long John Baldry, utters the phrase "SnooPING AS usual, I see", the highlighted part of which sounds very much like the word "penis" when isolated. This has been exploited to no end within the YTP world, including in the form of numerous iconic song melodies recreated from the sound clip alone. The AoStH version of Robotnik in general is considered one of the most iconic characters within the realm of the classic era of YTP.

Eggman Pisses on the Moon

"Eggman Pisses on the Moon" refers to a scene of dialogue from an improvised dub of Sonic Adventure 2 by YouTube channel SnapCube where Eggman's televised destruction of the moon, in actuality by way of a Death Star-esque space station, is described as him "pissing on the moon" among other ridiculous dialogue such as calling Shadow the Hedgehog a "bitch ass motherfucker". The audio and transcript of the scene have been repurposed and referenced by numerous other channels and users.

Angry Robotnik

Angry Robotnik refers to memes featuring Robotnik uttering a racial slur, intended in context as an extreme form of generic insult without explicitly racist meaning, originating from a viral edit of an obscure coloring book based on Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog which replaced all of the dialogue therein with offensive statements.
