Khalifa made the request, specifically discouraging the use of AI to remove the truck, on May 12th, 2025, a day after the photo was uploaded, resulting in a Photoshop request thread with numerous edits both removing the Cybertruck and trolling Khalifa by altering it in other ways.

On May 11th, 2025, Rubi Rose posted a photo to X^[1] showing herself bending over in a parking garage with her Cybertruck in the background, garnering over 286,000 likes and 23,000 reposts in two days. On May 12th, Mia Khalifa quoted the post on X,^[2] writing, "can someone pls photoshop the c*bertruck out so I can make this my wallpaper, I don’t know how and I refuse to ask chatgpt," garnering over 300,000 likes and 7,000 reposts in a day.

The post inspired numerous photoshops and edits of the Cybertruck photo over the following days, which were largely posted as comments or quote-reposts to Mia Khalifa's post.

For example, on May 12th, 2025, X^[3] user @lfcvamp posted an edit purportedly done using Photoshop that removes the Cybertruck, garnering over 95,000 likes in a day.

About 20 minutes later, X^[4] user @Brownslimer posted a version removing Rubi Rose, garnering over 33,000 likes in a day.

Later that day, X^[5] user @dieworkwear posted a version of the meme in which the Cybertruck has been replaced with the Bootmobile, a boot-shaped car created to advertise L.L.Bean that gained over 31,000 likes in a day. Shortly after, WhereIsTheBuzz^[6] posted an editorial about the meme.

Also on May 12th, 2025, X^[7] user @MrWavyD posted a Photoshop edit in which Rubi Rose is shown among a crowd of people nodding, suggesting her pose resembles someone nodding, garnering over 16,000 likes in a day.

On May 13th, X^[8] user @TrojanPooban posted an edit that replaces Rubi Rose with Batman, garnering over 14,000 likes in under a day.
