She Found Me Crying, She Crew Too, We Both Crode is a catchphrase popularized through a series of image macros as an exploitable, attached to images of people crying. The phrase was first used online as early as June 2020 and became increasingly popular over the following years.

Origin

The earliest available use of the phrase online was posted by X^[1] user @Karabo_Chaphole on June 2nd, 2020, writing, "'She found me crying and she crew too and we both crode'💔😭" alongside a GIF of a crying baby. Versions of the phrase were posted numerous times that month on sites including X^[2] and Facebook,^[3] with the earliest available version to gain significant traction posted by Redditor u/someone_help_pls to /r/TIHI^[4] on July 14th, garnering over 7,900 upvotes in three years (shown below).

Spread

On September 14th, 2020, a screenshot of a now-deleted post by X user @sirmutare where he uses the catchphrase was posted to /r/engrish,^[5] garnering over 9,400 upvotes in three years (shown below). It was reposted to /r/BrandNewSentence^[6] on September 17th, 2021, garnering over 18,500 upvotes in two years.

On December 26th, 2021, X^[7] user @QuickestTempa posted a recreation of the meme that garnered over 101,000 likes in two years (shown below, left). On February 21st, 2022, X^[8] user @_yn319 posted a redraw of the meme using the banner of the post as an exploitable, garnering over 15,900 likes in a year (shown below, right).

On April 24th, 2023, Facebook^[9] page Yeah Mr. White posted a version of the meme referencing Breaking Bad, garnering over 6,300 reactions and 1,800 shares in four months (shown below, left). On June 10th, Instagram^[10] user uchujin.jp posted a version of the meme referencing Evangelion, garnering over 22,500 likes in two months (shown below, right).
