About

She-Hulk Twerking With Megan Thee Stallion is a post-credit scene from the third episode of the 2022 Disney+ TV series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law in which rapper Megan Thee Stallion made a cameo and twerked with She-Hulk in her corner office. The so-called "twerk off" inspired memes, reactions and controversy in late 2022 on Twitter and social media, mostly due to the absurdity of Megan's inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Origin

On August 29th, 2022, the Twitter[1] account PopCrave relayed information from The Cut[2] that Megan Thee Stallion was going to appear in the third episode of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. On the night of August 30th, 2022, the third episode aired on Disney+. Soon after, on the morning of September 1st, 2022, Twitter[3] user falcxns posted a clip of She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) and Megan twerking in a post-credit scene, earning roughly 3.1 million views and 49,700 likes in less than a day (shown below).

Spread

Continuing into September 1st, 2022, multiple Twitter users levied their reactions to the She-Hulk clip. For instance, on September 1st, Twitter[4] user shuIkie tweeted a screencap of the scene, captioning it, "this is a real shot from the mcu 😭," and earning roughly 1,300 likes in less than a day (shown below, left). A few minutes later on September 1st, Twitter[5] user FandomCrunch then posted a similar tweet, earning roughly 7,700 likes in the same time period (shown below, right).

Video reactions also surfaced on Twitter following the episode. For instance, on September 1st, Twitter[6] user ThatNerdWiz captioned a video of Homelander in a movie theater with, "Me after watching Megan thee Stallion and She Hulk have a twerk off on Disney plus" earning roughly 6,400 likes in less than a day (shown below).

The memetic discourse continued in tweets going into the first week of September 2022. For instance, on September 1st, Twitter[7] user GothamChief used the Domino Effect template, referencing the progression of the MCU from the original Iron Man to the She-Hulk twerking scene. In less than a day, the meme received roughly 21,900 likes (shown below).

Later on September 1st, 2022, news outlet The Direct[8] published an article in which they interviewed the director of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Kat Coiro. Apparently in the episode, a shapeshifting elf from New Asgard transformed into Megan Thee Stallion to trick Dennis Bukowski, Jen Walters' former colleague, to make him believe that he's actually dating the famous rapper.

*watches the scene, "It can't be that bad- and now they have a zoomed in shot of she-hulk's cgi ass twerking."

I mean this is bad enough, but you have this on Disney+. I mean there are people already annoyed by this being in the MCU, but now this is just going to piss off parents wondering how Disney let this happen.
