About

The Regan Bros, or thereganbros, are an American trio of Gen Alpha and Gen Z age boys who post video content predominantly to YouTube Shorts, Facebook and Instagram Reels. They're often singing or recreating TikTok trends. In 2023, their videos gained notoriety for the perception that they were cringe, evident in memes made about them that likened their content to "the average YouTube Shorts user," suggesting that they were lagging behind TikTok users when it came to following trends in a timely matter. One of their most viral videos showed them singing "We Got Prime Boys."

Online History

The Regan Bros are based in Phenix City, Alamaba, in accordance with their Facebook[1] bio. The brothers' names are Brayden, Aston and Cannon.[2] Their accounts are adminned by their father named Farris who often appeared in their videos.

Their online presence started on their YouTube channel which, according to Social Blade,[5] was created on January 15th, 2016, under a different name, farrisreganofficial, associated with the father, Farris Regan. Their first, still-accessible YouTube Short[3] was uploaded on June 21st, 2021, a cover of "This is Gospel" by Panic! at the Disco, which seemingly came from a since-deleted, precursor TikTok account called @farrisregan. The Short gained roughly 437,000 views and 15,000 likes in two years (shown below, left). On June 24th, 2021, they posted a YouTube Short[4] which gained roughly 5.3 million views, cementing itself as their first viral hit on the platform (shown below, right). Again, the video had a watermark for the since-deleted TikTok @farrisregan.

Soon after in late 2021, The Regan Bros started accounts on both Instagram[6] and Facebook[7] where they began posting Reels going into 2022.

Following

By August 11th, 2023, The Regan Bros had amassed roughly 2.52 million subscribers on YouTube,[12] roughly 196,000 followers on Instagram[13] and roughly 4,300 followers on Facebook.[14]

Online Reactions

Starting in May 2023, users on TikTok began screen-recording and reposting YouTube Shorts from The Regan Bros, spreading them to a new audience with the perception that they were cringe.

For instance, one of the first was posted on May 21st, 2023, by TikToker[8] @graycenjordan8, gaining roughly 138,000 plays and 2,300 likes in three months (shown below, left). On May 27th, 2023, TikToker[9] @kingkaddastic posted a similar video, showing The Regan Bros singing "Peaches" with text reading, "Try Not To Cringe Challenge," gaining roughly 134,600 plays and 3,300 likes in three months (shown below, right).
