About

Daisy Brown is a horror-themed interactive webseries/alternate reality game which focuses on the titular character, a sheltered young woman, as she takes care of a monster named Alan (a direct reference to Alan Resnick), who turns increasingly nasty and abusive as the series progresses. The series is known for referring to dark subject matter including child abuse, sexuality, and abandonment. As of this article the channel has over 48,000 subscribers and 4 million cumulative views.

History

The Daisy Brown YouTube channel was created on June 27th, 2017. The following month, Daisy Brown uploaded its first video, titled "How I feed Alan", which introduced the characters of Daisy and Alan (shown below). At this point Daisy introduces a few key facts: Alan at this point is blind, can't feel with his eyes, and relies on a diet of sugar pills due to inability to process anything else in his digestive system. In the video Alan appears bedridden in a blanket as Daisy places sugar pills into Alan's mouth, explaining Alan's condition at this time. To date this video is the series's most popular video with over 1.2 million views.

Reputation

Since the webseries started it has gained a large following amongst the internet horror and Alternate Reality Game. As of the writing of this article the channel has two videos with over a million views, "How I Feed Alan" and "Alan Grows"(shown below)

Over the course of the series, Alan is seen to grow more abusive towards Daisy, and the descriptions in the videos grew more cryptic and misspelled, suggesting the mental duress Daisy is under. For example, in the video "Alan Pulled My Hair Out" (shown below, left), the description reads, "Alan di this and it was VERY VRY MEAN OF HIM. hes in a closet now having a time out. im mad and having hateful thoughts. pray that thsi will pass." In the video "friendship bracelet," the description reads, "i got stuck in my roo m and made a friendship bracelet. itt didnt work out., watch this. sorry. this isnn tsuper fun. its all i reallyy got in me thiss week. I love you guys."

On January 30th, 2018, horror/creepypasta website The 13th Floor published an article about the webseries.[4] Several prominent YouTubers have posted videos covering the channel including ReignBot (below, top left), Night Mind (below, top right), Spanish YouTuber Dross (below, bottom left), and Nightmare Expo (below, right).

The series has been covered by TVTropes[3] and has a subreddit with 499 subscribers.[5]
