Kris Get The Banana is a quote said by the Queen in Deltarune: Chapter 2 during a scene in which the player-character Kris is driving and a banana appears on the road. The scene was quickly celebrated by fans of the game, inspiring animations and parodies.

Origin

Deltarune: Chapter 2 released on September 17th, 2021. In the chapter, the antagonist is Queen.^[1] At one point in the game, Kris enters a car, and Queen tells them to avoid oncoming traffic (the player can decide whether or not to attempt to avoid the traffic). During this section, a banana icon appears in the road and Queen says "Stop everything. Kris get the banana." She repeats the line in a later vehicle section (shown below).

Spread

The scene quickly inspired parodies and animations from fans. On September 19th, 2021, YouTuber Revtrosity posted a video in which they did line-readings for all the characters in Chapter 2, including a reading of the "Get the banana" scene (shown below, left). On September 20th, 2021, YouTuber Elfie of the Archive posted an animation based on the scene using Revtrosity' audio that gained over 425,000 views in two days (shown below, right).

The line also inspired some image memes among the game's fans on social media. For example, Redditor TheCrazedPotatoMan posted a Where TF My Uber Driver Taking Me parody around the scene in /r/deltarune^[2] on September 19th, gaining over 3,500 points (shown below, left). On the 21st, user Spyrinho20 posted a Wojak parody of the scene to /r/Undertale,^[3] gaining over 300 points.
