About

K-Pop Demon Hunters is an upcoming Sony film directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. The film follows a demon-hunting K-pop girl group as they go up against an unlikely new enemy: soul-stealing demons disguised as a K-pop boy band. The animation for the film was created by Sony Pictures Imageworks, the same team behind Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, and the soundtrack includes a contribution from TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung on the track "Takedown." The trailer for the film received generally positive feedback in late May, with several internet users commending the animator's decision to depict characters with exaggerated, anime-inspired facial expressions. Other internet users expressed excitement over the film's primary antagonist being a K-pop boy band.
