Nuketown is a multiplayer map that was first introduced in the Call of Duty title Black Ops. The mass popularity of the map lead to further iterations in other Black Ops sequels (and Call of Duty Online) as well as recreations of the map in fan artworks and IRL.

History

Nuketown was originally an unofficial project developed for level designer Adam Hoggatt who had a fuctional design within a few days. The map was later met with widespread positive reaction among Treyarch employees.

Nuketown

Nuketown was the original map that is found in Black Ops. It took place in Nevada and was inspired by the nuclear testing site found in the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

Nuketown 2025

Nuketown 2025 was a downloadable map for the game Black Ops 2 which was set in the year of 2025. It was the first of three remakes of the original map.

Nuketown Zombies

Nuketown Zombies was the second map of three remakes in the main Black Ops series and was made for the Zombies game mode in Black Ops 2. It took place after the end of the multiplayer map and simultaneously takes place with Moon in the zombies story line. It was the 13th map in the CoD Zombies saga.

NUK3TOWN

NUK3TOWN is the latest remake of the original Black Ops multiplayer map for the game Black Ops 3. It is set in the year 2065 and has been redesigned to accommodate the new movement system found in the upcoming game.

Nukehouse

Nukehouse was a multiplayer map in the game Black Ops: Declassified bearing similarities to the original map but at half the size of the original. It is currently the only Nuketown remake in a Call of Duty title that was not made by Treyarch.
