Star Wars: Ahsoka is an American space-opera limited series set in the Star Wars universe. Premiering in August 2023 on Disney+, the show takes place in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian tv series and its other interconnected spin-offs after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.

History

On December 10th, 2020, Slash Films^[1] reported that two new Star Wars series that will be spin-offs of The Mandalorian were being developed by Disney's Disney and Lucasfilm. The official Star Wars X^[2] account revealed the TV Series logo (shown below) and that actress starring Rosario Dawson would reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano, which amassed over 106,000 likes and 27,000 retweets in three years.

The series focuses on the character Ahsoka Tano, who was co-created by Dave Filoni for the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and made her live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian. The first teaser^[3] about the show was revealed on April 7th, 2023, which amassed over 16 million views and 311,000 likes in five months.

The show's first season premiered on August 22nd, 2023, on Dysney+.

Reception

As of September 2023, the first season of Ahsoka is currently airing on Disney+ and being received with largely positive reception from both critics and users. On Rotten Tomatoes,^[4] the show averaged an 87 percent approval rating, and on Metacritic,^[5] it received a 68 out of 100.

Online Presence

On December 19th, 2022, X^[6] account @DiscussingFilm posted a "first look" preview of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka (shown below), which amassed over 35,800 likes and 3,400 retweets in a year.

The official Star Wars X^[7] account posted an interview with Dawosn about her expectations about the show. The post (shown below) amassed more than 483,000 views and 5,400 likes in five months.
