About
Superman Good Deeds and Lex Luthor Bad Deeds refer to a series of image macros, caption memes and tweets following the 2025 Superman film, directed by James Gunn, in which images of Superman, played by actor David Corenswet, are paired with wholesome captions about helping people and spreading kindness. Alternatively, others used images of Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, paired with captions about being evil. The primary image of Superman showed the character lying down and smiling serenely from the movie's ending. The primary Lex Luthor image showed the character standing in a corporate setting and scowling. The trend spread en masse on Twitter / X in mid-July 2025. Viral examples of the meme used captions like, "Helped my neighbor carry her groceries today," and "Watched my neighbor trip and spill her groceries today." Some of the positive Superman Good Deeds captions mirrored posts that followed the precursor Starman trend.
