Telo Peluqueria / Vuikz Haircuts Gone Wrong also known as Menace Barber Haircuts refers to a series of haircut videos posted to the TikTok accounts @telopeluqueria29 and @vuikz in which a Black barber from the PELUQUERIA TELO BLACK barbershop with neon green fang Grillz gives customers arguably and elaborately bad haircuts and exhibits unusual behavior during them. The @telopeluqueria account started posting in 2020, and the @vuikz account started posting edited versions of these videos in mid-September 2021 and quickly gained a large English-speaking following. The @vuikz page is likely not run by the barbershop. Along with the haircuts and bizarre hair cutting tactics, the Vuikz page is known for its use of alternative cursed Emojis in each video. The barber frequently eats things off his customers' heads.

On August 20th, 2020, TikToker @telopeluqueria29 posted their first video, showing a Black barber with green Grillz at the PELUQUERIA TELO BLACK barbershop in Cali, Colombia^[4] growling over a dog sound effect while being brushed up by another barber, gaining over 116,000 views in a year (shown below).

The account has remained active since and regularly posts videos of its barbers giving unusual haircuts to their customers. On November 30th, 2020, a video from the account was posted to YouTube by Rarigang ent titled "Haircut gone terribly wrong 😨😭" gaining over 2.8 million views in 10 months (shown below).

The barbershop also runs an Instagram page @telopeluqueria featuring many of the same videos.

Vuikz Edits

On September 15th, 2021, TikTok^[1] page @Vuikz began posting edited content from the @telopeluqueria29 account, adding new original sounds and captions. The account is likely not run by the barbershop, as it features English-language captions, and the shop is based in Colombia. On that day, the account posted six haircut videos, which gained over a combined 7 million views in six days (shown below in order of upload). The most successful TikTok^[2] (furthest right, top row) gained over 3 million views in that time and shows a boy with a "zipper" haircut which the barber claims is his best yet. Each video features a different non-Unicode cursed skull Emoji along with a caption.

Spread

The Vuikz page gained 100,000 followers in six days. On August 22nd, TikTok^[4] page @Telopeluqueria29 posted a video of a haircut resembling a turtle, gaining over 93,000 views (shown below, left). TikTok^[5] page @vuikz posted the same video sped up with a new sound and a caption on September 20th, gaining over 913,000 views (shown below, right).
