About
Tendré Que Decir Que Es Bait or I'll Have To Say It's Bait refers to a catchphrase and image macro of the Dragon Ball anime character Goku with the Spanish text "tendré que decir que es bait," which translates to "I'll have to say It's bait." The phrase is used to call out people that are losing an online argument and use the meme this is bait to avoid being further humiliated, when, in fact, they're just embarrassed.
Origin
On January 20th, 2021, Memedroid user @gabriel542[1] shared a manga panel of Goku from Dragon Ball with the Spanish overlayed text "joder, se están riendo de mí. Tendré que decir que es bait," which translates to "fuck, they're laughing at me. I'll have to say it's bait." The post (seen below) garnered 278 votes on the meme platform.
Spread
Over the course of 2021, the meme became an image macro, often used to mock people in online arguments. For example, Twitter[2] user @El_Jett_XD regretted a post he made on March 4th, 2021 making a bet about a game, so he used the Goku meme to say it was just bait. The tweet (seen below) received one like in two years.

Another example of the meme, posted on Memedroid[3] by @Rawer on April 20th, 2021, shows a text message in Spanish reading "Galileo Galilei in 1616 saying that the earth is not the center of the universe," accompanied by the image macro of Goku. The post (seen below) received 1090 votes on the platform in two years.
On April 19th, 2021, YouTube[4] user @MemeBall uploaded a fan-made Spanish dub version of the meme (seen below), garnering 173,000 views and 13,000 likes in two years.
