The MF Sitting Next To Me refers to a catchphrase about when teachers tell students to discuss a topic with the person sitting next to them but that person is weird or quiet. It was first used on Twitter in late 2019 to caption a photo of the Mike Wazowski-Sulley Face Swap before spreading to other platforms in the following years.

Origin

On November 19th, 2019, Twitter[1] user curledbitch captioned the Mike Wazowski-Sulley Face Swap from Monsters Inc. with, "teacher: discuss ur ideas with the person next to u / the mf sitting next to me:" The tweet received roughly 79,600 likes over the course of two and a half years (shown below).

On December 8th, 2019, the Facebook[5] page Rappers In Peculiar Places used the catchphrase with a picture of Playboi Carti, earning roughly 3,100 reactions and 2,800 shares in two and a half years (shown below).



On December 12th, 2019, Twitter[2] user kktsune used the catchphrase in a tweet that included a photo of Bladee, earning roughly 11,200 likes in two and a half years (shown below, left). Also on December 12th, Twitter[3] user Muhamnnad captioned a photo of rapper Babytron, earning over 480 likes in the same amount of time (shown below, right).

Curledbitch's tweet[1] was reposted to other platforms going into 2020. For instance, on January 7th, 2020, it was reposted to Facebook [4] by the page Memes and more, earning roughly 3,000 reactions and 11,600 shares in two years.

On May 3rd, 2022, the Facebook[6] page Evil Niqqa Memes 3 captioned a photo of Alan Scheer with the catchphrase, earning roughly 5,200 reactions and 3,300 shares in two days (shown below). The meme was later reposted by Instagram[7] page grapejuiceboys on May 3rd where it received roughly 107,200 likes in two days.
