This is a Bucket is a small scene taken from a promotional video for Team Fortress 2. The short and absurd nature of the dialogue between the spy protagonist and the soldier reaction to him presenting a bucket led to parodies and fanarts in the style of a multi-pane meme.

Origin

On June 18th, 2014, the official teamfortress YouTube page released a promotional video for the Love and War update on their game, titles Expiration Date (shown below, left). On that same day, user Potato Salad uploaded a 6-seconds cut of the scene involving Red Spy presenting a bucket to his team (shown below, right).
