Um Gnomo Estava Andando Em Cima Do Asfalto (Eng: One Gnome Was Walking On Asphalt) refers to a viral video of a person playing the mobile game Pou while singing an improvised song. The clip and audio were later used in remixes with other video games, primarily on YouTube.

Origin

On December 12th, 2021, YouTuber davi tutoriais posted a video of himself playing Pou, a mobile game released in 2012. While playing the minigame "Cliff Dash," he starts singing an improvised song in the rhythm of the minigame music. The name "Gnomo" is the name that Davi gave to Pou. The video received 244,000 views and 24,000 likes in one month (shown below.)[1]

The clip was uploaded the same day to Davi's secondary channel (Daviz45). The video received one million views and 55,000 likes in one month (shown below.)[2]

On December 14th, 2021, TikToker compilation_343 posted a TikTok video[4] using the sound, gaining over 622,000 likes (shown below).

On December 19th, YouTuber Zaze Blox posted a Roblox edit using the song, receiving 6.4 million views and 461,000 likes in three weeks (shown below, left).[3] On December 20th, YouTuber Nukers[6] posted an explainer of the meme, gaining over 970,000 views in two months (shown below, right).

On December 19th, 2021, Daviz 45 uploaded another improvised song while playing Pou, gaining 508,000 views and 27,000 likes in one month (shown below, left).[7] On January 21st, 2021, Daviz 45 uploaded a second version of the meme, receiving 144,000 views and 13,000 likes in three days(shown below, right).[8]

On February 2nd, 2022, Daynix uploaded uploaded the meme subtitled to spanish, receiving 3.7 million views and 172,000 likes in 15 days(shown below.)[9]
