One of the leaked lyrics that caught fans attention mentioned that American singer and producer Charlie Puth should've been a "bigger artist," as X^[1] user @G0DNEYS posted a screenshot (seen below) of the "The Tortured Poets Department" song, which amassed more than 12,000 likes and 6,200 retweets in three days.

As Taylor's album was officially released on streaming services On April 18th, 2024, the "We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist" lyric started to be used as a phrasal template by fans of other artists who feel they also should be more appreciated, especially Carly Rae Jepsen fans.

For example, on April 18th, X^[2] user @CATBOIBOSS posted an Emma Roberts reaction video paired with the caption "You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate we declared Carly Rae Jepsen should be a bigger artist," which received over 90,000 views and 3,600 likes in a day.

On April 19th, 2014, X^[3] user @heyjaeee posted a recaption version of the "The Tortured Poets Department" lyric, replacing Charlie Puth with Carly Rae Jepsen's name (shown below, left), which received roughly 15,000 likes and 3,200 retweets in a few hours.
