WeirdChamp is a Twitch Emote showing the face of Ryan "Gootecks" Gutierrez, known as the face of the Pogchamp emote, making a disbelieving or disappointed face. It is used on Twitch to express disappointment.

Origin

On July 2nd, 2018, Redditor [6] shared the image of the emote on the /r/forsen subreddit. The post received more than 480 points (99% upvoted) in less than two years.

In the thread, which refers to the image as "FeelsWeirdPog," Redditor[6] ImpressiveDouble writes, "looks decent might need a name change though." Redditor 6in responds, "WeirdChamp."

The emote was submitted to FrankerFacez[1] by user nedddus on July 3rd, 2018.

The emote became popular in the streams of user xQc, aka xQcOW, and much of the online discussion of the emote appears in the subreddit /r/xQcOW.[3] There, users often complain about the overuse of the emote. For example, on November 27th, 2018, a deleted Reddit user petitioned for the emote to be banned due to emote spam (shown below, left).[4] On June 20th, 2019, Redditor Ethoart posted a Me and the Boys meme about how the meme ruined the streamer's chats, gaining over 890 points[5] (shown below, right).

On April 12th, 2019, a variation was uploaded to FrankerFacez[2] by user mellen which made the face smaller in proportion to the head (shown below).
