Whore Magic refers to an image macro of an angry-looking Baby Yoda from the television series The Mandalorian featuring a fake subtitle that reads "Whore Magic" as if Baby Yoda is saying it. The accompanying top text describes a situation where a woman with traits stereotypical of a "whore" finds success, with the image of Baby Yoda attached underneath as a bitter or jealous reaction.

Origin

On February 27th, 2020, iFunny user P0ttym0uthh^[1] posted an image macro featuring the caption, "Watching a stripper you just did 8 shots with, climb a 20 foot pole" attached to an image of an angry-looking Baby Yoda (shown below). The post gained over 54,000 likes in 8 months. The image of Baby Yoda is missing the subtitle "Whore Magic" but follows the same format otherwise. On July 3rd, iFunny user C_Wade reuploaded P0ttym0uthh's meme featuring the subtitle "Whore Magic."^[2]

On October 21st, Redditor Jommy69 posted an image macro to /r/dankmemes^[3] featuring the caption, "Teachers when the girl who exposed her shoulder becomes successful instead of a stripper" attached to the same image of Baby Yoda (shown below, left). The post gained over 96,000 upvotes and 190 Reddit awards in 5 days. On the same day, Jommy69 uploaded another variation of the meme to the same subreddit,^[4] this time garnering over 16,800 upvotes and 9 Reddit awards (shown below, right).

Spread

New variations of the meme started spreading across social media, particularly on Reddit and iFunny. On October 21st, 2020, Redditor hardikupreti uploaded a variation on the format to /r/dankmemes, garnering over 39,000 upvotes and 50 Reddit awards in 4 days (shown below, left). On October 22nd, the image of Baby Yoda saying "Whore Magic" was posted to /r/ReactionMemes by Redditor gustavs787, gaining over 310 upvotes in 4 days (shown below, right).

On October 22nd, Reditor Eljapoika123 uploaded a version of the meme to /r/memes,^[5] garnering over 15,000 upvotes and 5 Reddit awards (shown below). On the same day, Redditor LOLED_AKAASI uploaded another variation of the meme to /r/dankmemes,^[6] gaining over 28,000 upvotes in 5 days (shown below, right).
