About

Wigglesburg and Buttersburg are fictional American towns used to joke about people who take pride in their relatively small and remote cities to the point that they make it their whole personality. The meme originated from a viral TikTok skit posted by user @ariisaysso in 2023, captioned, "When people use their city as their whole personality trait." The video follows Arii delivering lines like, "I'm not scared of you, I'm from Wigglesburg," "I'm from Buttersburg, we don't really do all that much talking." The video also featured references to other fictional American towns like "Paprika City," "Barnacle City," "West Ticklestown" and "Buckeysville." Memes about Wigglesburg spread online in subsequent years, primarily in Stan Twitter communities online.
