Will Smith's "Pretty Girls" refers to a rap song released in mid-June 2025 by American actor and singer Will Smith as a single for his Based On a True Story album. The music video and the lyrics in Smith's "Pretty Girls" sparked backlash and criticism on Twitter / X, TikTok, as he raps about his love of beautiful women while surrounded by four female backup dancers. Many perceived the song and video as cringe, sharing memes mocking Smith and his music as it spread online.
Origin
On June 13th, 2025, Will Smith posted the official video for his single "Pretty Girls" on YouTube.[1] The video features Smith repeatedly saying, "I like pretty girls," as he raps surrounded by four female backup dancers. The music video gained more than 1 million views, 39,000 likes, 26,000 dislikes (using the Return YouTube Dislike extension in a browser, which is an estimate) and 7,000 comments in five days (seen below).

Will Smith's "Pretty Girls" music video quickly became a viral topic on social media and among music critics in mid-June 2025, many of whom claimed both the song and video were corny[2] and cringe.
The video also sparked parodies and memes, like the post uploaded on X[3] by user @ditzysalt on June 16th, 2025, who replaced the backup dancers with an animation featuring humanoid televisions dancing. The post (seen below) amassed over 382,000 views and 23,000 likes in a day.

On June 15th, 2025, TikTok[4] user @ivangtvnews posted a video commenting on Smith's new music video, as well as some of the criticism that spawned on social media. The video amassed roughly 109,000 plays and 1,600 likes in two days.
