About
Woman Want Me, Fish Fear Me Parodies refers to the infamous picture of an oversized fishing hat, its over-the-top quote and various other parodies made that reference the original hat. Though the hat was originally created in Photoshop, it and others like it eventually became real products for sale on various online marketplaces. While the first couple of hat variants were made using Photoshop, the meme became mainstream to the point where an online hat text editor exists to create additional variants of them.
Origin
The phrase first started off with a classic dad-joke said by fathers who are active in fishing, "Woman want me, fish fear me," except over time it was modernized online and eventually turned into a meme. The earliest known usage of the fishing hat comes from Facebook[1], where the page Jekyl Does'nt Hide posted the picture on June 23rd, 2020, earning 800 likes in roughly one year (shown below).
The text of the hat, which was described as something Early from Squidbillies would proudly wear, has also been used in pieces as part of a copypasta.

Men Turn Their Eyes Away From Me
As I Walk No Beast Dares Make A Sound In My Presence
I Am Alone On This Barren Earth.
The hat itself started to get photoshopped onto different characters, most notably on Doge, as seen in the meme posted to the subreddit /r/Dogelore[2] by BenBdaMan on July 3rd, 2020, that gained 10,000 upvotes in one year (shown below).
Spread
The big fishing hat meme stayed relatively quiet until April 1st, 2021, where the company CoolShirtz[3] sold a variation of the hat that featured an overly long brim, selling out in hours (shown below).
Two weeks later, on April 16th, 2021, the Twitter[4] page @Reactjpg posted the first variant of the hat, earning 1,500 likes in four months (shown below).
This revival into the mainstream was only temporary, with a proper revival of the meme not taking place until July 1st, 2021, when the hat started to be sold through Kommadostore.[5] After going on sale, more people took notice of it, and additional hat variants were posted online.
