Year 2030 or Is Any One Of You a Doctor refers to a series of memes based on an exploitable comic where a man in the year 2030, standing over another unconscious man, asks a group of people if anyone is a doctor, to which they all reply that they're DJs. The original comic is by MM and Taber and was first posted online in 2012, becoming the subject of memes over the following years where the characters or text is edited to change the context.

Origin

It is unclear when or where the "Year 2030" comic by MM and Taber was first released. The earliest available repost of the comic online, showing a man in the year 2030 over an unconscious man asking a crowd of people for a doctor only for everyone to respond that they're a DJ, was posted to Tumblr^[1] by redsuspenders sometime in January 2012 and deleted on an unknown date (shown below). It was posted to Flickr^[2] that same month on January 10th.

Spread

The comic gained viral spread throughout the 2010s, including reposts to Facebook^[3] and Reddit.^[4] One of the earliest known edits of the meme was posted by Instagram^[5] user 8balldump on December 27th, 2019, replacing "DJ" with "sex worker," garnering around 80 likes in four years.

On June 7th, 2022, Instagram^[6] user throwingfits posted a new edit of the meme that gained over 4,300 likes in a year (shown below, left). On June 18th, Twitter^[7] user @goofbell posted a redraw of the meme depicting the characters as One Piece characters, garnering over 3,800 likes in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On September 10th, Twitter^[8] user @lottaIuv92 posted a redrawn version of the meme that gained over 36,300 likes in eight months (shown below). On May 15th, 2023, Instagram^[9] user idontreadtheory posted a version of the meme that gained over 3,100 likes in a day.
