Yer Bird is a U.K. slang term for "your girl," as in, a guy's female partner. Viral Yer Bird memes were formatted like Yo Mama jokes with "Yer bird" starting the sentence and a creative insult finishing it. The insults were usually about Yer Bird have stereotypically masculine traits and tendencies, more characteristic of a Brisith Charva than a woman. Yer Bird jokes were originally shared on Twitter / X, starting in 2021. Yer Bird memes then went viral on TikTok in mid-2025, as people shared British JuggTok and GIFTok videos using the slang term.

Origin

Viral use of Yer Bird dates back to at least December 2015 on X.^[1] However, viral Yer Bird jokes didn't surface until 2021. The first viral post to use the format was shared by X^[2] user @Mason__drfc on October 7th, 2021, reading, "Yer bird rings up talksport and opens with 'great show as always lads.'" Over four years, the tweet received over 21,000 likes (shown below).

More Yer Bird jokes surfaced on X in the following days, like a tweet from X^[3] user @SICKB0Y_ on October 8th, 2021, which read, "Yer bird announces 'I’d give that half an hour' when she walks out the shitter," gaining over 18,000 likes in four years (shown below).

Viral tweets using Yer Bird continued in the following years. For instance, on September 18th, 2024, X^[4] user @1877BC reposted a TikTok of a girl's last day in Dublin, Ireland, in which she "split the G" and cries. The repost's caption read, "Yer bird cries after splitting the G," gaining over 88,000 likes in nine months (shown below).

Yer Bird memes spread to TikTok in 2025, evident in a POV video skit shared by TikToker^[7] @bra.yy_ on April 7th, in which he and a friend rattled off Yer Bird jokes in a so-called "Yer Bird Off." Over two months, the video received roughly 29,000 likes (shown below).

Heading into mid-2025, Yer Bird memes began taking the form of JuggTok and GIFTok videos. For instance, on May 16th, TikToker^[5] @ff1u7 posted a video with Alan Reet and a caption reading, "Legend has it yer bird shouts oi oi on the beat drop," gaining over 65,300 likes in a month (shown below).

On May 18th, TikToker^[6] @sfcforlife posted a video about "Top 5 things yer bird does," gaining over 30,800 likes in three weeks (shown below).
