About
You Get the Whole Account or You Get the Whole Slideshow is a catchphrase used in a series of memes on TikTok in which one user shames another, the victim, by uploading a video displaying a cringe or embarrassing comment made by the victim along with a reply comment from the uploader reading a variation of the phrase, "you get the whole slideshow," followed by a cut to a recording of a TikTok slideshow consisting only of the victim's cringe comment. The meme was popularized in November 2023 and inspired numerous examples using a variety of phrases, including "you get a whole Times Square billboard," followed by footage of a billboard with a comment on it and "you get the whole account," followed by footage of a TikTok account made using a cringe comment.
Origin
While it is unconfirmed who started the trend, one of the earliest viral examples is a slideshow posted by TikToker[1] @yougettingthewholeaccoun on November 15th, 2023. The slideshow begins with a screenshot of TikToker[2] @thelegendaryduckegg's comment under a video by TiKToker[3] @relayts mourning the loss of the original Fortnite map, followed by a reply comment from @yougettingthewholeaccoun reading, "You getting the whole account 💀." The video gained over 2.9 million views in two weeks and was reposted on the account numerous times between then and November 16th, therefore dedicating the whole account to the commenter.
