Origin
On April 8th, 2014, Tumblr [1] user lohgan posted the image with the caption "This sums up my life pretty well." Within five years, the post received more than 581,000 notes (shown below).
Spread
Several days later, on April 19th, Redditor [2] Kytyngurl2 posted the image on the /r/funny subreddit. The post received more than 2,700 points (95% upvoted) and 1,500 comments in five years.
On August 5th, Memedroid[3] user porkcheezie posted the image with the captioned added to the image. The post received than 3,500 points (94% upvoted) in five years (shown below, left).
On April 10th, 2019, Redditor[4] AssassinBoy49 posted the image with the caption "When a Redditor tries to upvote an Instagram post." The post received more than 28,000 points (97% upvoted) in two months (shown below, center).
Several weeks later, Redditor[5] The1stSam posted the image as a reaction to a text message exchange about dating. The post received more than 92,000 points (97% upvoted) and 465 comments in one month (shown below, right).
