You're Ugly, You're Disgusting is a quote read by Dr. Phil during an episode of his show. The full quote, "You're ugly. You're disgusting. I'm gonna kill you. Give me $200," comes from a Dr. Phil episode in which he reads words spoken by a teenager to his mother. The quote has been parodied and remixed online out-of-context, as if Dr. Phil was saying the threatening dialogue.
Origin
The quote comes from the Dr. Phil Show episode "Explosive Anger", which aired September 27th, 2013[1] (shown below, left). During the episode, Dr. Phil reads the threatening quote back to the teenager. This clip would be used in future memes (shown below, right).
Spread
On February 26th, 2018, YouTuber Reidakai posted an edited clip of Dr. Phil saying the line, gaining over 50,000 views (shown below, left). On July 29th, YouTuber IMCALLEDCOOL posted an ear rape version of the clip, gaining over 1,300 views (shown below, right).
In early 2019, an image macro of the clip began spreading on Tumblr as a reaction image. For example, an April 18th, 2019 post by hexglyphs[2] gained over 33,000 notes (shown below, left). An April 28th post by oaktreebutch[3] gained over 90,000 notes (shown below, right).
