When he appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast last fall, Mark Zuckerberg shared his interest in a newfound passion: martial arts. In between promoting the Metaverse and discussing their views on the future, Rogan and Zuckerberg bonded over their mutual love for the sport.

Now, Zuckerberg has taken to his Instagram account @zuck to post a series of photos about a ju-jitsu tournament where he won Gold and Silver medals. The photos received over 420,000 likes in less than a day.

Online response to Zuck's post was both positive and negative. Some praised Zuck for his strength and level of physical fitness, while others wished they could teach him a lesson.

Mixed martial arts isn't the first Zuckerberg hobby to attract online attention. The ultra-wealthy mogul's fascination with foil surfing, and a very patriotic Instagram post about it, led to many memes back in July of 2021. A 2016 video of Zuckerberg smoking meats in his backyard also attracted a lot of meme energy.

Zuckerberg's professional and personal life have attracted the attention of meme-makers for years, and likely will continue to do so. One can only hope that after his ju-jitsu tournament, the master of the Metaverse refueled with a hefty plate of smoked meats slathered in Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce.
