At the end of February, Randi Zuckerberg, the sister of Meta and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, made a rap video about women in Web3. After giving it a listen, the internet is still deciding if it was empowering or simply cringeworthy.

Many people online are very familiar with the Zucc but most don't know about his older sister. Randi is an American businesswoman who also went to Harvard before her brother. Unlike him, she graduated and later was a host of the Fox News' program Forbes on Fox, a business analysis show that ran from 2002 to 2018. She later became the head of marketing and a spokesperson for Facebook.

Nowadays, Randi Zuckerberg is also a YouTuber and an advocate for Web3 technology. She is also a figure in the NFT world. On February 28th, she decided to take these passions to the main stage, creating and uploading a music video to Twitter, labeling it "a rallying cry for the women of web3" and referencing in its chorus the crypto-slang We're All Gonna Make It.

The video percolated on Twitter in the days following its upload where many debated whether it was beneficial or detrimental to the web3 community. Reactions were enabled through memes, where users fell into tropes like Web2 Me vs. Web3 Me and WAGMI, which were the leading lyrics of the song. Image macros were posted in the replies that ironically urged Randi to delete it.

All the backlash prompted a response from Randi Zuckerberg, who wrote in a tweet yesterday, "A special thanks to all the crypto bros hating on my music video by retweeting and sharing it more broadly…" She went on to call them "gorillas," perhaps referencing the Bored Ape Yacht Club. In turn, the response also garnered some backlash where some even compared her to another notable woman in crypto, Razzlekhan, also known as, Heather Morgan.

There weren't many positive remarks in the end. People online of all gender orientations seemed to label this as just another cringeworthy moment to attribute to the growing NFT community.
