'Minecraft' Movie Trailer Releases, Appalls Nearly Everyone On Social Media
The trailer for the much somewhat anticipated Minecraft movie released this morning, which features a trailercore version of The Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour," jarring CGI and a distinct example of Millennial writing cringe.
In short, it has nearly every "movie trailer" trope that's ever been despised or memed on.
The trailer establishes that a racially diverse cast of adults and children has been Isekai'd into the world of Minecraft, where they meet Jack Black, who looks like Jack Black but is playing Steve.
Not much about the teaser impressed social media, and the reviews have been largely swift and damning in the three hours since it was posted earlier today.
this may be the worst movie trailer i've ever seen https://t.co/mNtztaDiLS pic.twitter.com/9jnExRIUz5

The movie comes out in April 2025, meaning there is plenty of time for tweaks if Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures decide they need to make some changes, a la the Sonic movie, but considering who is running Warner Brothers, there may not be much reason to hope for an improvement.
