It's long been a common joke online that one should be careful what they post online lest they run for political office one day, when all of their posts will be scrutinized by their opposition.

North Carolina Lieutenant Governor and current GOP nominee for governor in the state did not heed that advice, and today, CNN published an article about how he once reportedly called himself a "Black Nazi" and advocated for the reinstatement of slavery in the forums of pornographic websites.

Robinson has long been a controversial figure. Prior to today's revelations, he drew controversy for engaging in Holocaust denial, called homosexuality an abominable sin after the Pulse nightclub shooting and said trans people should "find a corner outside somewhere" instead of using a public restroom.

Ironically, CNN's investigation showed Robinson was a fan of transgender pornography between 2008 and 2012 when he frequented the website "Nude Africa."

“I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f---ing hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!" he is quoted as saying. "And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!"

According to CNN, "Robinson listed his full name on his profile for Nude Africa, as well as an email address he used on numerous websites across the internet for decades."

As if that weren't bad enough, Politico reported that Robinson was registered on the online dating site Ashley Madison, a site exclusively used to help married couples cheat.

It goes without saying that this is a bad look for a potential state governor, even in an era when politicians have overcome egregious scandals en route to achieving the Presidency.

Some projection models are giving Robinson a 10 percent chance to win the election against Josh Stein, the current attorney general of the state, while others have already begun calling on him to drop out of the race.

Robinson denied that the comments dug up by CNN were made by him and vowed to stay in the race despite the scandal.
