Honestly, I really hate how comic books nowadays are all this dark, gritty and full of blood. I mean, it's cool when done from time to time but doing it all the time just makes it look like the writers and readers in general have some kind of mental illness.

I'm all for gore and dark concepts,if there is enough substance.I think the main issue of comic books these days is that they also try to shove political views,agendas and things like that rather than provide a really engaging and memorable story.
This is the reason why western comics are not doing so well recently.
