Detective Pikachu is a reminder that video game movies can be good when actual effort is put into them.

The Sonic movie is a reminder of the video game movies that never should've happened.

Which is hilarious because… ALL of these old bad video game movies were adapting huge name franchises.

But Dectective Pikachu, while tied to the larger pokemon franchise… is a 3ds point and click style Spinoff game. Apparently has more cinematic effort put into it.
