Notes:

The First Battle of Monte Grappa was what halted the Austro-Hungarian army from taking over Northern Italy after their victory at Caporetto.
That failure Cadorna was taken off the command, and substituted with Diaz, which is probably the smartest move that they could have done.

While it was Diaz in charge of the defense, it was that guy with the beard, Mario Nicolis commanding the troops on the ground. Luckily, the ONE thing Cadorna had done right the entire war was fortifying the mountains. It's like he could see his future failures and prepared in advance.

Unlike Conrad, that German general had a pretty good reputation. But despite having special troops and numerical superiority, they lost.
