I still can't believe these SOCJUS idiots have the gall to lecture anybody about the nature of art. These cretins want "art" to be a "safe" and "tolerant" (by their own twisted definitions of those words) extruded product. Masterpieces by checklist: you need an approved character mix of genders, races, religions and sexual orientations (whether or not the characters themselves are worthwhile is beside the point), they must be presented in an approved way (because everyone knows cleavage is the mark of Beelzebub!), plots must adhere to approved standards (how dare you present an oppressed woman as an antagonist, you cishet monster!)... Christ, it's like going before the State Committee for Art Approval. And your project won't get made if you don't grovel before the Subcommittees for Transgender Affairs and Oppression Mitigation. And who the f--- are they, to proclaim themselves the stalwart defenders and protectors of the fragile minds of the dumb herd animals and barely-restrained monsters that comprise the rest of society by their lights? Such a burden it must be, to protect our delicate minds from damaging thoughts or unsafe ideas! And somehow, depite their vapid blathering about "art," they've managed to completely miss what art is. They couldn't d art with a pack of da Vinc sniffing bloodhounds! For art to be possible, the very concept of thought police must be demolished. And yes, 95% of what emerges from that environment of freedom will be crap. It'll be dull, substandard, offensive, juvenile, lowest-common-denominator tripe fit only to be forgotten. But without the freedom to be offensive, to write actual characters as opposed to including required and approved "story ingredients," you don't get Hunter Thompson. Or Hemingway. Or Twain. Or Ursula LeGuin. Or Octavia Butler. You sure as s--- don't get Shakespeare - boil away the archaic language, and a surprising amount of the Bard's work is the 16th century equivalent of d--- jokes. You think that'd fly as art today as far as the SOcJUs retards are concerned? These self-appointed stewards of "art" want it to be "safe." And they would never understand why their nice safe art spaces produce "art" that is about as unimpressive as anything produced by the Soviets back in the bad old days. Me? I want art to be f------ dangerous. I want artists to feel free to go as far as their demented imaginations can carry them. And if it's too much for me, or I find their work offensive, I don't need an art critic nanny to protect my delicate sensibilities. I'lljust say "that's crap" and refuse to buy the artist's work. You know, like a f------ adult with my own mind capable of determining for myself what is and is not worthwhile. My sense of art is not democratic. It is a dictatorship. And they don't get either a vote or a voice in that decision. And that's probably why they sauawk so much.

Author has 304 answers and 740.1K answer views. 5y Not that I care that much either way, but it did expose a lot of corrupt game developers and game journalists. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
