iPhone - Where There's an Outlet, There's a Way

I took physics this semester, so of course my first thought is to want to calculate the tension in the cord.
Assuming it's an iPhone 5, and assuming the case and cord both have negligible mass, then…
Okay, Wikipedia says an iPhone 5 is 112g, so that's .112kg multiplied by 9.8, and the weight is 1.0976 Newtons, and weight and tension balance each other out, so the tension in the cord should be 1.0976N. 1.1N if you round up.

My first thought was, "I hope that falls and hits someone."

sigh Now I just feel really stupid…
