#GAMERGATE I have never seen anything like it. The whole story is so fascinating They are the first group that I'm aware of who stood up against the hard-line feminist There have boen hard-line feminist who have come into groups of atheist, libertarians, who have been plagued by very ierational and angry feminist It happened of course in sports, on the campus. The men's sports weren't able to fight back BUT THE GAMERS FOUGHT BACK! And of coursc the media, which does have a strong influence of the gender activist, THEY ARE HORRIFIED and want to characterize the gamers as THUGS and sort of dangerous MiSOGYNIST BUT THEYRE NOT They just want to play their games. The cultural critics came in and irritated them and they fought back THE GAMERS ARE THE WRONG GROUP TO IRRITATE, they are very tech savvy they are also a group who have been mischaracterized, they are passionate about their hobby. There are MILLIONS of them and they have been BULLIED about their hobby FOREVER. Mothers dont understand it and teachers dont like it. And then you had various "experts" with very little evidence. blaming their hobby for every school shooting and violence But the Eact is, if you look at the Millennials who have been beought up with video games, violence has gone way down, youth crime is at a record low. Author has 304 answers and 740.1K answer views. 5y Not that I care that much either way, but it did expose a lot of corrupt game developers and game journalists. X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
