Peanut the Squirrel was a beloved pet of content creator Mark Longo, who managed the Instagram account @peanut_the_squirrel12 since April 2017. In late October 2024, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYDEC) seized Peanut and Longo's raccoon Fred from his home, leading to their euthanization on November 1st, 2024.
