Triggered Feminist

About

Triggered Feminist, also known as Angry Feminist and Ficki Fiona, refers to a photoshop meme based around a still image of a woman with short hair and glasses appearing angry during a confrontation with supporters of Donald Trump. Online, images of the woman are often used in image macros, photoshops and animated GIFs in jokes about "triggering" feminists and left-wing activists.

Origin

On June 1st, 2016, The Alex Jones Channel YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "Trump Supporters Shut Down Protesters" (shown below). In the video, a woman with short hair wearing glasses is shown arguing with a man about statistics about SA against women. The original video was removed following YouTube's ban of all InfoWars channels in 2017.

On June 2nd, 2016, screencaps of the woman were submitted to /r/The_Donald,^[1][3] introducing her as "Ficki Fiona." The following day, a thread about the woman was submitted to 4chan's /pol/ board, where many nicknamed her "Ficki Fiona."

On June 4th, 2016, Imgur ^[5] user antidamage posted the most popular usage of the meme, adding the word "triggered" in impact font to the bottom of the image. Within five years, the post received more than 13,500 views (shown below).

On November 10th, 2016, the Tugboat Facebook^[2] page posted an image macro of the woman with the caption "Did you just assume my gender?" (shown below).

On November 19th, 2017, YouTuber PewDiePie used the image of the woman for the thumbnail on a video about microaggressions (shown below).

On March 13th, 2019, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a photoshopped image of Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson) superimposed with the woman's head and the caption "Captain Triggered" (shown below). Shortly after, the tweet was highlighted by the @WeWuzBoomers^[4] Twitter feed.
